Soy Underwear
http://www.coolhunting.com/archives/2007/02/2xist_soy_under.php
2xist has come out with a line of underwear which is 95% soy and 5% nylon. Soy is a highly renewable crop that has a huge range of uses including: oils, soap, cosmetics, resins, plastics, inks, crayons, solvents, clothing, and biodiesel. Soybeans are also used as fermenting stock to make a brand of vodka. Soy also has many applications in the food industry as a replacement for many dairy and meat products, and is a source of complete protein.
Unfortunately at this point, the 2xist collection is only for men’s underwear, but “today, very high quality textile fibers are made commercially from “okara” (soy pulp), a by-product of tofu production”(Wikipedia). So there is hope for more and more designs to use this.

This bedding company, A Happy Planet, offers everything needed in order to sleep “green.” All the bedding is made from organically grown fibers, such as cotton and hemp. The pillows use chemical-free wool from organically raised sheep and organic buckwheat hull which offers gentle head and neck support. This company uses no plastics, oils or flame retardents in their mattresses, and they use only sustainably harvested wood. According to their website, “One set of conventional sheets requires over 1.5 lbs. of toxic chemicals to produce, while organic sheets require none.” Also, their website offers a great learning section that answers questions regarding eco-friendly products.
Green Product - women’s knit hooded sweater
http://www.greenhome.com/products/apparel/womens_clothing/108449/
This is an image of a women’s knit hooded rainbow sweater. It is made out of 100% hemp. What I like about this sweater is that it looks very trendy. I love how it looks like the sweater has been ruched and the colors are very earth tone. It looks like a sweater that would also be made by companies who make clothing that have been processed with chemicals. And I think that’s the whole beauty of it, because even though they all look the same, this item is environmentally safe. It has a blend of hemp and flax and dyed with fiber reactive dyes.
